What I do

No matter what stage your company is in, I can help.

Ease your development pain

Managing developers can be painful.

There’s a reason it’s commonly referred to as “herding cats” — there are a ton of pitfalls. You’ve probably experienced some or all of these problems with developers:

  • * Wildly inaccurate time estimates
  • * No heads-up on delays
  • * Spending a ton of time on stuff that isn’t important
  • * Building something completely different than what you asked for

These problems are common and fixable. I specialize in getting your development team running smoothly and finally communicating effectively so they don't happen.

Keep your tech on track

You need a coach.

It’s difficult to be objective about your project when you’re immersed in it. How can you know that what you’re building will be reliable, extensible, and well-documented? How do you know the freelance developer you’re working with is doing good work?

I provide help and advice via weekly check-in calls and impromptu chats on Slack, whether you need a second opinion, a sanity check, or just a sounding board.

Stop paying huge recruiter fees

I hire developers, but I'm not a recruiter.

Recruiters are notoriously difficult to work with. Candidates are often poorly vetted and you end up digging through stacks of resumes. Then after you decide to hire you get a massive 5-figure bill for their fee!

I work differently: I find candidates and help you hire them. If you have an existing process I apply it to vet them; if you don’t then I use my own and present the vetted candidates to you. I don’t charge huge a percentage of salary, just a weekly flat fee until we find you the right candidate.

Finally get the transparency you deserve

Transparency is one of my core values.

Whether you need an MVP built, a new feature added on a tight deadline, or bugs fixed, I provide full-stack development to get your product where need to be.

My clients always cite communication as one of my best skills. When you work with me you’ll always know what to expect and when to expect it.

How does this work?

I work remotely with startups all over the world. For that human touch, I am available for on-site meetings in Chicago and occasional travel to anywhere with an airport.

How do I pay you?

I offer both fixed-rate and hourly fee structures, and have been known to accept revenue sharing and equity deals as well.

What's your experience?
